Introduction to me

Introduction

I am Padraig, a 22 year old student born in Ireland and I am in my 4th and final year of studying the course, Bachelor of Business (Hons), at South East Technological University (SETU). In the 3rd year the course splits into different streams and I decided I wanted to specialise in the Economics and Finance stream. I chose this stream because growing up I always had an interest in the stock market and how money made the world work and before I came to SETU I had Economics as a subject, which I really enjoyed.  

During the 4 years I have also studied abroad for a semester at Hogeschool Utrecht in the Netherlands. During my time there I studied the International Business Skills minor where I worked closely with a wide range of different cultures. The main assessment of this course was developing a product for Royal Ahrend, an international leader and manufacturer in the office furniture market. 

My group of 3 was tasked with developing a new and innovative product and a plan on how to launch it and be successful in the South Korean office market. After a lot of hard work and a rejected concept, we came to the last day where we presented our new concept to the company. The company loved the concept and the research we put into the market and gave us an award for having the best team, we also received an award from our lecturers for displaying the best teamwork throughout the semester.

Aside from my studies I have interests in history, technology, football, reading and most recently developed an interest in golf, to the dismay of my wallet.
